Most congregations try to identify member's gifts and match them to particular tasks or positions within the church or community.

One approach is to use a questionnaire or survey, tabulate the responses, and provide the results to a committee for follow-up. (Another approach is to identify spiritual gifts and perhaps personal styles and ministry passions. See Profiles.)
